Leetonia school board OKs donations
LEETONIA — The village exempted school district met briefly in open session Tuesday night before going into a lengthy executive session to discuss personnel.
Members accepted $1,000 in donations to the Ed Smith Scholarship Fund from Cleone Smith and $225 from Bill Jackson toward the food pantry.
Also on the action agenda, the board:
— Approved the Ohio Schools Council annual membership due for the 2024-25 school year.
— Contracted for snow removal with Sodbusters Landscaping for the 2024-25 school year.
— Approved an agreement with the Village of Leetonia’s EMS (Emergency Medical Services) to provide sports medicine service for the district’s winter sports events in 2024-25.
— Approved Jaren Snyder as an IDEA aide for the 2024-25 school year at $15 per hour effective Nov. 7.
— Approved Sandy Witmer for an unpaid leave for Feb. 27 and 28, 2025.
— Approved the following home instruction tutors Laurie Crisan, retroactively effective Oct. 31, and Gretchen Hull, retroactively effective Oct. 10.
— Approved the following supplemental contracts for Addie Zohnd, junior high girls basketball; Nick Fellure, freshman boys basketball; Leanna Meeks, yearbook adviser; and Emma Minamyer, varsity girls assistant basketball.
— Added the following substitute for this year, pending background and certification verification: Kelly Mead, John McIlduff and Vanessa Lalama.
