Organized by the Columbiana County Educational Service Center, teams competed from Beaver Local, Crestview, Columbiana, East Palestine, East Liverpool, Leetonia, Lisbon, Salem and Springfield.
Qualifying for the 2025 Ohio VRC High School State Championship in Dayton, Ohio on March 15 and 16 are award winners from Beaver Local, Crestview and Salem. Beaver Local and Salem solidified winning spots as Tournament Champions. As well, Crestview advances with their win of the Excellence award.
Additional award recipients include: East Liverpool winning the Create Award recognizing a creative engineering design. The Energy Award for outstanding enthusiasm and excitement went to Springfield. East Palestine had a triple win taking home the Innovate Award, the Think Award, and the Build Award for the most well-constructed robot. The Sportsmanship Award for their high degree of helpfulness on and off the competition field was earned by Columbiana. The Judges Award went to Salem for overcoming challenges and displaying perseverance, as well as the Amaze Award. Crestview took home both the Design and Skills Awards. Salem and East Palestine teams also finished as Tournament Finalists.
