Leetonia BOE OK’s dates for prom, graduation ceremonies
LEETONIA — The Leetonia school board approved a dates for upcoming evemts during a meeting Wednesday night.
Members voted that the junior-senior prom will be held at 7 p.m. May 10 at the Barn at Firestone Farms with the promenade to precede at 6 p.m. in the Leetonia school gymnasium.
Graduation ceremonies are set for 6 p.m. Friday, May 23, contingent upon their successful completion of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce guidelines.
There was no action taken as a result of an executive session held near the meeting’s conclusion to discuss personnel and immune court action.
Among other action, the board also:
— Approved Jessica Neel, Katey Lora and Leanna Meeks as game workers for the 2024-25 school year.
— Accepted a $3,000 donation for the Make A Difference scholarship and an $1,000 donation from Marie Evans Miller Agency Inc. for the Down On Main scholarship.
— Renewed the district’s insurance through Liberty Mutual for April 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026 in the amount of $66,996.
— Approved supplemental budgets for SAAD, FCCLA and Middle School Student Council for the 2024-25 school year.
— Approved Sheakley Uniservice as the MCO and TPA for Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment at a cost of $531 or the 2026 fiscal year.
— Approved an one-year extension for Bears-to-Bee preschool.
— Accepted the retirement of Guy Costello effective March 1 and Tiffany Davis effective June 1.
— Approved Kimberly Breedlove as a home instructor tutor for the 2024-25 school year, retroactively effective Feb. 18, 2025.
— Approved Jeff Smith as substitute bus driver and classified substitute effective March 11 and Dawn Cox as a classified substitute effective March 24.
— Approved the resolution between the district and Power4Schools’ endorsed electric supplier, Engie Resources LLC.
— Approved a depository agreement with Farmers National Bank.
— Approved a subscription agreement between the district and InsightBoard.
— Approved the Leetonia High School course offerings for the 2025-26 school year.
— Approved Julian and Grube Inc. as the auditor of the Medicaid school program for the fiscal years 2026 and 2027.
— Approved a maintenance and network support with ACCESS for fiscal year 2026.
— Approved Club Hollywood to use the auditoria and gyms on April 26 and GCXC Racing Youngstown to use the parking lot/entrance and restrooms and transportation on Nov. 15.
