Cruise rolls on

Despite a slower than normal start due to inclement weather, the 2025 Salem Super Cruise returned to form Friday with show cars and muscle cars of every make and model from across the area on display around the city of Salem.

Today

— SUPERKIDS Soapbox Derby 9 a.m.

The annual valve cover racing competitions on Friday and Saturday attract competitors of all ages split between the pro and street divisions. — Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Car Show from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

— Valve cover racing from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on South Lundy

— Garden tractor pull at 2 p.m. on South Broadway

— Music by the Memphis Soul Brew band from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the Broadway Stage, followed by the SB Music from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

— Show & Shine Car Show sponsored by Nick’s Auto Body from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Municipal Parking Lot across the street from the Timberlanes complex; immediately following the show, the drawings will be held for the annual four-day 50/50 raffle and the Moore Farms $500 beef and pork raffle at 3 p.m.,

— Christina Langen & House Party band will perform from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the Broadway Stage.
