SALEM — A 125th anniversary of historic Grandview Cemetery will be held from 1-5 p.m. Saturday.

The celebration will include a discussion of the Civil War and Salem’s involvement delivered by Atty. Tim Brookes.

A retired attorney and native of East Liverpool, Brookes was admitted to the bar in 1979. He has had a lifelong interest in the Civil War.

The graduate of Kent State University and the Ohio State University College of Law, Brookes has served as president of the East Liverpool Historical Society from 1987-2004 and has written numerous historical articles.

A regular speaker on historical topics, Brookes is primarily interested in photographs and stories of common soldiers — especially those hailing from Columbiana County.
