CHURCH HAPPENINGS
— NORTH GEORGETOWN–First Brethren Church of North Georgetown will begin summer hours on Sunday.
Through Labor Day, the church will have one Sunday service from 10 to 11:15 a.m. each week. The service will include a combined time of worship and teaching for all. An infant/toddler nursery is available during the teaching time.
First Brethren is located at 27333 Main St. (Georgetown Road) in North Georgetown, near the Old Stagecoach Inn.
— SALEM — Highland Christian Church, 5330 Yates Road, will host “Zack Shelton and 64 to Grayson Live” at 6 p.m. June 3.

— NEW WATERFORD — A new Sunday night teaching and ministry series will begin at 7 p.m. June 4 with Teen Challenge leading the kickoff at Abundant Life Fellowship, 46469 state Route 46.
Young men in the Youngstown-based Teen Challenge program will lead worship and share testimonies that night as part of the launch of Abundant Life’s summer “Set the Captives Free” series that will run eight weeks.
Senior Pastor Jeff Schoch will teach, and members of the church will minister to people who have needs throughout the series. The purpose of the series is to bring freedom to all who are struggling with specific problems or issues in everyday life. Everybody is welcome, and the church is encouraging all to invite friends and family members who may be dealing with a specific problem.
In addition to the launch night, the remaining of the schedule includes the following dates and topics of teaching and ministry:
June 11: Addiction
June 25: Identity
July 2: Abuse
July 16: Depression
July 30: Economics
Aug. 20: Direction
Aug. 27: Celebration Concert
Those dates are the only times evening services will be conducted during the summer.
Schoch will present an overview of the series, including an explanation of how it came about, during the 10:30 a.m. service June 4.
