Children’s social media use topic at Crestview

COLUMBIANA — Dr. Elizabeth Bandy, communications professor at the University of Mount Union, will discuss children’s social media use at 7 p.m. today in the Crestview Performing Arts Center. Bandy will offer information that parents can use to identify causes of concern in social media accounts. She will also show parents how to manage children’s use of social media and how to navigate the issues that might come with social media. The event is open to the public.

Fourth Thursday Banquet in Salem features roast beef

SALEM — Salem Realife Church will sponsor the Fourth Thursday Banquet in Salem from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Memorial Building, 785 E. Breakfast buffet offered at Salem Masons Saturday

SALEM — The public is invited to a breakfast buffet from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Masonic Building, 788 E. State St. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children under age 10 and free for children under 2. The menu offers pancakes, waffles, ham, sausage, scrambled eggs, homemade sausage gravy, biscuits, homefries, toast, fruit cocktail, orange juice, coffee and tea. A handicap accessible elevator is available.

Church Women United to meet Jan. 28

SALEM — Church Women United will meet at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at the First Friends Church, 1028 Jennings Ave. This month’s speaker is Pastor Peter Fowler. The public is invited to attend.

Dog license deadline nears

LISBON — Columbiana County Auditor Nancy Milliken is reminding dog owners they have until Jan. 31 to purchase 2019 dog licenses without facing a penalty. Licenses can be purchased online at the auditor’s website for existing account holders or at the following locations: auditor’s office, the county dog pound, Fuller’s True Value in East Palestine, Milligan’s True Value in East Liverpool and Pure Pet in Salem.
