Columbiana Girl Scout troop hosts annual STEM camp

Girl Scout Troop 80191 of Columbiana hosted its annual overnight Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) camp on Jan. 26 at the Best Western Dutch Inn. Scouts participated in a variety of STEM related activities including how to make a bouncy ball, math counting science, building a circuit, etc. Girls also collected items from

spatulas to crock pots as a service project to donate to Beatitude House. Teresa Boyce, co-director of Beatitude House, spoke to the girls on their project which helps

families get back on their feet. The items donated by the scouts will go toward families establishing their own homes again after major set-backs. The girls relaxed with swimming, a dance party, and the famous chocolate fountain. Pictured with the donations is Boyce and members of the following troops from Columbiana, Leetonia, and Salem: 80191, 80514, 80346, 80107, 80777, 80036, 80315 and 80146. (Submitted photo)
