Midwest Scale Train Show set at Salem Centerplex

SALEM–The 27th Midwest Scale Train Show will be held March 21 through 23 at the Salem Centerplex, 1098 N. Ellsworth Ave. Show times include 1 to 7 p.m. March 22 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 23.

The event will include vendors, manufacturers, clinics, operating layouts and model contest. All scales and gauges are welcome. Clinics are hosted by top area and regional modelers all day March 22 and 23.

Travel to Chicago at Sebring Library April 6

SEBRING– The Sebring Library is inviting community members to Travel to Chicago at 2 p.m. April 6. The program for teens and adults will share information about city destinations including Willis Tower (formerly Sears), Shedd Aquarium, Millennium Park with the Bean, Wrigley Field and Buckingham Fountain, as well as transit systems, the Magnificent Mile and more.

Angels for Animals buffet, cake auction set March 23

CANFIELD–Angels for Animals will present its Third Annual Dinner Buffet and Live Cake Auction from 4 to 6:30 p.m. March 23 in Andrews Hall at Angels for Animals, 4750 W. South Range Road. The event includes a basket raffle and third annual cake auction beginning at 7 p.m.

The menu includes glazed ham, pork loin, chicken, smashed potatoes, potato and cheese casserole, vegetables, salad bar, bread, dessert, beverage and vegetarian offerings.

Cost is $13 for adults and $6 for children 6 years and younger. Proceeds will go toward the Feline Voucher Project.

Quakertown Super Kids accepting applications

SALEM–Quakertown Super Kids will be accepting registration for racers until April 19. To register a child, email Race Director Janet Keene at janwel2002@yahoo.com and include name, child’s name and T-shirt size, address, phone number and email.

The race will be held on June 1 on South Broadway Avenue in Salem.

The free soap box derby is for challenged children between 7 and 18 years old. Everything including cars are provided for racers. Once a child is registered, parents or guardians will receive forms that must be filled out and returned on Practice Day, May 11at VFW Post 5532 in Washingtonville.
