Warbirds over Alliance set for this weekend

ALLIANCE–The Alliance Balsa Bees will present their 16th Annual Warbirds over Alliance from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The flying field is located at the northeast end of Barber Airport, four miles north of Alliance of state Route 225.

There will be aircraft ranging from World War I to modern day Warbirds. The aircraft will be powered by electric, gas and jet turbines. They will range from 2-feet to 15-feet wing span.

All planes will be lined up on the field at noon so visitors can have a closer look and ask the pilots questions. The visitors will be able to vote for their favorite plane. Tickets will be given to spectators when they arrive. The planes will be numbered and attendees will be able to write their favorite on the ticket. The pilot of the winning aircraft will receive the Peoples Choice trophy. For the spectators safety, red, white and blue flags will mark off restricted area.

Food and drink may be purchased at Crash & Burn Grill. Restrooms are available.
