Farmers Bank to sponsor Banquet

Sportman’s Club to offer Kids Day

LEETONIA– The Leetonia Sportsman’s Club will be holding its 44th annual Kids Day on Sept. 28 at the club grounds along East High Street. Registration will start at 9 a.m. and will run continuously throughout the day. There will be shooting, archery and fishing events for all children from ages 5 to 16 years old. Trophies will be awarded to contest winners and raffle prizes will be given away. A wiener roast will also be held. Everything is free of charge.

Lepper Library to hold book sale

LISBON– Lepper Library will hold a book sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 20 in the garage off Vine Street, before the village’s annual Johnny Appleseed Festival. There will be a wide selection of adult, teen and children’s books, audios, CDs and DVDs. The prices are hardbacks 50 cents; paperbacks 25 cents; audios, CDs and DVDs $1; all children’s books 25 cents; and magazines are free with any purchase.

Library to present Dot Day event

LISBON– The Lepper Library will celebrate International Dot Day at 10 a.m. Saturday. Make your mark on the Community Canvas, listen to “The Dot” by Peter Reynolds, make Bubble Art, design your own Dot Bridge, and build your own Dot Tower.

Historical society to share antiques

DAMASCUS–The Damascus Area Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at The Pearce House, 28959 Salem Alliance Road.

Members are encouraged to bring an antique for “Show and Tell Antiques.” A permanent wall display entitled “Damascus Through the Years” created by Linda Henderson will be highlighted. The public is welcome to attend.

Sunset event slated at MetroParks

CANFIELD–Mill Creek MetroParks presents Sunset at the Farm to be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at the MetroParks Farm, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road. Visitors will watch the sun set on the horizon and enjoy the late summer atmosphere at the Farm. Enjoy folk music while roasting marshmallows over the campfire, explore the animal barns or find your way through a corn maze. Watch cider and homemade apple butter demonstrations along with a free sample. Join in playing old-time games or take a tractor-drawn wagon hay ride. Pony rides, face painting and refreshments will be available for a small fee.
