Trail of Treats and Halloween Costume Contest is Sunday at Waterworth Memorial Park

SALEM  — Trail of Treats and Halloween Costume Contest will be held Sunday, Oct. 27 in Waterworth Memorial Park.

A costume contest begins at 1:30 p.m. and will be held at the band shell, The contest is sponsored by the Salem Public Library with awards being donated by Morris Financial Group.

Trail of Treats, which is sponsored by the Salem Parks & Recreation and Eyes for Olivia Foundation, will follow from 2-4 p.m. on the Nature Trail. Local businesses, clubs, organizations, churches and politicians are invited to set up candy distribution areas along the trail and pass out candy to kids 14 and under accompanied by an adult. Candy distributors are also encouraged to dress up and decorate their area and give out promotional items/information to the adults. Awards will also be given to the best decorated displays of those passing out candy.

In case of bad weather, both events will be moved indoors to the Salem Community Center. Call Amber at 330-271-8913 to request a candy distribution spot on the trail or for more information. Both events are open to children 14 and under, accompanied by and adult.
