Salem High School Class of 1969 dinner rescheduled

SALEM– The Salem High School Class of 1969 dinner scheduled for Nov. 12 has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Nov. 13 at DeRienzo’s.

Knife sharpening techniques to be featured at class

SALEM– Proper techniques for knife sharpening will be demonstrated by General Manager Kevin Coe of Winona Frozen Foods from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 25 in the Quaker Room of Salem Public Library. Just in time for the holidays this “Fix It Wizard” series program is open to the public and free of cost to attend. North Lima church to hold drive-thru dinner Nov. 14

NORTH LIMA– Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave., will hold a drive-thru chicken dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out Nov. 14. Dinner will include a stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and a brownie. Cost of the dinner is $7. Reserve dinners by calling 330-549-2588.

Lepper Library to offer offline coding program

LISBON– Lepper Library will host the program Coding Unplugged- Tweens and Teens at 4 p.m. Nov. 13. The program aims to help participants hone their skills thinking like a coder while having fun offline.

Columbiana church to host veterans luncheon

COLUMBIANA–Area veterans and their family members are invited to the 5th annual luncheon in their honor at noon Nov. 16 at Christ the King Anglican Church, 202 E. Park Ave.

Susan Krawchyk, U.S. Army veteran and executive director and service officer with Mahoning County Veteran’s Service Commission, will be the speaker following the luncheon.

West Branch Schools announces Veterans Day events

BELOIT– All four schools in the West Branch Local School district have planned an upcoming Veterans Day program. All veterans, parents and community members are welcome to attend.

Knox Elementary School will host a Veterans Day program at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Each grade level will have a special part in honoring veterans. The presentation will be held in the gymnasium.

West Branch High School will recognize Veterans Day at 8 a.m. Monday in the auditorium. Both the band and choir will perform, and students will present readings. A reception for veterans will follow the program.

West Branch Middle School’s Veterans Day assembly will take place at 1:45 p.m. Monday in the gymnasium. The middle school band will perform during the program. All veterans, parents and community members are welcome to attend.

Damascus Elementary School will also celebrate Veterans Day at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The elementary students will perform a musical presentation in the gymnasium.

Sebring Schools schedules Veterans Day services

SEBRING–Sebring Local Schools invite all local veterans to attend Veterans Day program as the schools honor them for their dedication and service to the country.

Sebring McKinley Jr./Sr. High School will welcome veterans to enjoy a cup of coffee and a slice of coffee cake at 7:30 a.m. Monday. The Veterans Day program will follow at 8 a.m.

B.L. Miller Elementary School will hold its Veterans Day Program at 10:15 a.m. Monday.

Salon at MCCTC opens for the 2019-202 school year

CANFIELD– The Salon at MCCTC, located in the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, is open and ready to serve all cosmetology needs. The student-run salon will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays and by appointment Tuesdays. The cosmetology students offer haircuts, styling, hair color, manicures, pedicures, facials and hair removal. Services are performed by the students under the supervision of their licensed instructor with prices starting at $10. To make an appointment call the Salon at MCCTC at 330-729-4000 Ext. 1309.

Senior Moments Cafe available in Winona Nov. 13

WINONA– Senior Moments Cafe will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Winona Friends Family Life Center. All people 55 years and older are welcome to the free lunch.
