Seats available for Jesus the Key Ministries bus trips

SALEM–Jesus the Key Ministries still has a few seats available for their upcoming bus trips in December. The first will be leaving on Wednesday, Dec. 4 and return on Thursday, Dec. 5 to see “The Miracle of Christmas” at the Sight and Sound Theater, and “Joy to the World” at the American Music Theatre in Lancaster, Pa. Then on Tuesday, Dec. 17 there will be a day trip to Sugarcreek to see the play “The Christmas Tree Ship” at the Ohio Star Theater. There will be plenty of shopping and good eats on both trips. Winona Area Historical Society Christmas set Dec. 7

WINONA– The Winona Area Historical Society will hold its 8th annual Christmas in the Country fund raiser from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 in the restored 1838 Meeting House in Winona. The facility is handicap accessible. Proceeds from the event will be used for archival storage and display materials, and for general operating expenses. The fund raiser will include functional and decorative items that were hand-crafted and donated by local artisans. Featured items will be rustic game boards crafted from original meeting house ceiling boards, rustic Santas, wooden children’s toys and puzzles, keepsake boxes, framed art work, the fifth annual WAHS Christmas ornament depicting the Winona wagon shop, knitted items, Christmas silk and grapevine wreaths, horse shoe decor, homemade pies, artisan jams and jellies, specialty breads, baked (not fried) blueberry donuts and much more. Again, the “Trash and Treasures” table will offer gently-used Christmas decor.

SRMC Look Nook offering special sales in December

SALEM – The Look Nook Gift Shop at Salem Regional Medical Center is offering special discounts on holiday gift items during its “12 Days of Christmas” shopping event. From Dec. 2 through 14, shoppers are invited to visit the Look Nook each day to see what exclusive gift item is featured. Each featured item of the day will be 20 percent off for that day only. Located on Salem Regional Medical Center’s ground floor concourse, the Look Nook is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Table space available for Slovak Club craft show

Angels for Animals breakfast to benefit felines

CANFIELD–Angels for Animals, 4750 W. South Range Road, will host its Thanks for Giving! Pancake Breakfast benefitting the Feline Voucher Project from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in Andrews Hall at the facility. Cost is $9 for all you can eat and $5 for children 6 years and under. The menu will include regular and specialty pancakes, sausage, ham, cheese hash browns, scrambled eggs, pastries, mixed fruit, orange juice, coffee, milk and tea. There will also be a basket raffle and 50/50 drawing.

2020 dog licenses now on sale in Columbiana County

LISBON–Columbiana County Auditor Nancy Milliken has announced 2020 dog licenses will go on sale Dec. 1, 2019 through Jan 31, 2020. In compliance with Ohio Revised Code 955.01, all dogs 3 months of age and older harbored in Columbiana County must be licensed. No dog licenses will be sold online, by mail or in person before Dec. 1. The registration fee for the one-year license is $10, the three-year license is $30 and the permanent license is $100. Owners should be aware that these longer-term licenses can be bought online, by mail or in person at the auditor’s office only; and are non-refundable in the event of the death of the animal or if the dog is passed to a new owner. If you received a pre-printed application in the mail, bring the entire form in person or mail in. Without a completed application, identification showing name and current address will be required in order to buy dog licenses. The auditor’s office and the dog pound will again be accepting Visa, MasterCard, Discover and debit cards, in addition to cash, checks and money orders. Electronic transactions are available at www.doglicenses.us/OH/Columbiana beginning Dec. 1, 2019. A convenience fee will be assessed for all electronic transactions. Dog license applications and payments may also be mailed to the Columbiana County Auditor’s Office at 105 S. Market St., Lisbon, OH, 44432, with a postmark of Jan. 31, 2020 or earlier. It is the owner’s responsibility to make sure the postmark is Jan. 31st or earlier. Penalty of $10 per license will be applied after Jan. 31.

Outside agents will be selling licenses Dec. 1, 2019 through Jan. 31, 2020, at a cost of $10 per license, plus a 75-cent processing fee per application. No credit card purchases will be accepted at these outside agents. After Jan. 31, licenses will only be sold in person at the auditor’s office or dog pound.

All kennel licenses must be purchased at the Columbiana County Dog Pound at 8455 County Home Road, Lisbon.
