Salem City employees to sponsor the Banquet in Salem Monday

SALEM–Salem City employees will sponsor the Banquet in Salem from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Building.

Deerfield Historical Society dance slated for Monday at town hall

DEERFIELD — The Deerfield Historical Society’s first Monday dance will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Deerfield Town Hall, 1450 state Route 14. The Deerfield House Band will entertain with a variety of music for listening and dancing pleasure. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Admission is $4.

Reservations are being accepted for the New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance which will be held at the same venue, New Year’s Eve, with doors open at 6:30 p.m. and buffet open at 7 p.m. Jerry Cole and the High Plains Drifters will play from 8 pm. to midnight. Pork and kraut, mashed potatoes, homemade breads, tableware and drink will be provided. Tickets are $25 per couple, $15 single. Guests are asked to bring a side dish. Salem Eagles to hold Craft Night featuring wine bottle figurines

Lepper Library to host local

columnist to review his book

LISBON– Lepper Library will host local author Fred Miller at 6 p.m. Dec. 5. A former staff writer for The Review daily newspaper in East Liverpool, Miller wrote a weekly column from 1983 to 2007, and resumed it in April of this year. He will be talking about his book “Worshrag, Shark and Seed,” a collection of 50 columns from the period 1989 to 1993. Call the Lepper Library at 330-424-3117 to register for the event.
