First Presbyterian to present music

SALEM–Special music presentations will occur during the 10:30 a.m. worship services on Sunday for Christ The King Sunday at First Presbyterian Church of Salem.

The Western Reserve Brass Quintet and timpani will perform selections from “Water Music” by G.F. Handel. The brass and timpani will also accompany the choir on the hymn anthem “Crown Him Lord of All” arranged by Jay Rouse and offertory selection “This Is My Song” by Jean Sibelius, arranged by John Ferguson, Jonathan Willis trombone soloist.

Special music during worship service is graciously funded in part by Kim and Geoff Goll, along with the church Music Fund.

SPL ‘Stitches in Time’ to meet

SALEM–The Salem Public Library’s Stitches in Time group will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Dec. 18 in the Quaker Room.

The group is for people who enjoy crocheting, knitting, cross-stitching or another similar crafting. Participants are encouraged to bring a project to work on while chatting with others.
