Christmas in the Country in Winona is Dec. 7

Event chairman Gordon Dunn is surrounded by a sampling of handcrafted items being offered at Christmas in the Country in Winona scheduled from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. Of special interest are the welcome sign and checkerboard made from ceiling boards taken from the 1838 Meeting House/Museum during its restoration. Also featured are unique creations donated by local artisans and crafters including: wooden children’s toys and puzzles, ornaments, rustic Santas, knitted and fabric items, horse shoe decor, wreaths, homemade food stuffs (pies, breads, jams, blueberry donuts and more), keepsake boxes, perpetual calendars and other treasures. The museum building, handicap accessible and site of the event, is located on the Winona Area Historical Society’s grounds at the corner of Winona Road and Cameron Street in Winona. Proceeds benefit the society’s archival purchases and building /grounds maintenance. (Submitted photo)
