FOP, martial artists provide funds for Thanksgiving

The Salem Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 88 and the Salem Self Pro Martial Arts school once again have donated funds to the annual community Thanksgiving dinner served at the Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. State St.The FOP raised $1,000 for the dinner. The martial arts school, with its annual kick-a-thon, raised $560. The free dinner, which will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, includes turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables and pie. No reservations are needed for diners eating at the Memorial Building. Those who would like delivery to their homes are asked to call 330-337-3728. This year at the dinner, an area will also be set up to pass out good used clothing.
