Historical Society offering Christmas Light tours on trolley

SALEM — The Salem Historical Society will offer a series of Christmas Light tours on the new Quakertown Trolley. The first follows the Christmas Parade and “Light-Up Salem” on the Village Green. The Quakertown Trolley will offer rides to view selected lighting of the city including the Sebo home. The tours last approximately 55 minutes. Dec. 5 tours begin at 8 p.m. at the conclusion of light up. In addition, light tours will be offered at 8 p.m. on Dec. 8 and 21 and 7 p.m. Dec. 27. Additional tours will be scheduled each night if the first tour fills.

Tours will load at the Dale Shaffer Library at 239 S. Lundy Ave. The cost is $6 per adult and $3 for children under 12. Children under 3 are free. Trips with less than 15 may be canceled. The Society is asking community members to call 330-337-8514 with suggestions for sites to include on the tour.

Salem Historical Society Museum candlelight tours of the Broadway buildings will be held from 8 to 10 p.m. Dec. 5, 8, 12, 20 and 21; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 14; 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 27; and by appointment for groups of 10 or more. The lighted ceramic Christmas village featuring over 100 buildings will also be on display. Admission is $3 per person and it is included with the Light Trolley tour.
