Train set winner announced
COLUMBIANA — The Columbiana Area Tourism Bureau (CATB) has announced that Dominic Hafely won the Christmas Train Starter Set donated by Crouse Mill True Value Hardware, North Lima, with support from David Peters.
The train drawing was open to children visiting the Joy of Christmas Light Show 2019, taking place at historic Harvey S. Firestone Park in Columbiana. Celebrating 10 years of providing holiday joy to the community, the Joy of Christmas opened the weekend of Nov. 15 and features one million lights on more than 80 displays, as well as activities at the Gingerbread House and Santa’s Ice Castle, including Christmas cookies, hot chocolate and food (for purchase); pictures with Santa in the Ice Castle (forpurchase); Mrs. Santa’s Story Time in the Gingerbread House; crafts and face-painting; a collection of more than 130 decorated gingerbread houses; coloring contest; live holiday music and more. The event also features designated nights for senior citizens and children with special needs.
Joy of Christmas 2019 is open 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 12 through 26. Donations of $10 per vehicle, or $2 per person on motorcoach, support Firestone Park restoration efforts. Joy of Christmas is an event of and benefits the Columbiana Area Tourism Bureau, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of Columbiana’s unique heritage and sustainable tourism designed to contribute to the area’s economic growth.
