Friends of the Banquet

to sponsor Monday’s meal

SALEM– Friends of the Banquet will sponsor the Banquet in Salem from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include sloppy joes, cheesy potatoes, baked beans, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and ice cream sundaes.

Retired Navy officer to speak at Canfield Library

CANFIELD – Commander Kirk S. Lippold, USN (Ret.), author and acclaimed expert on security, leadership and crisis management, will speak at the Canfield Library Wednesday. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and Lippold will speak at noon, followed by a question and answer session. The event is free and open to the public.

According to his website, “Commander Lippold was the Commanding Officer of the USS Cole when it came under a suicide terrorist attack by al Qaeda in the port of Aden, Yemen, on Oct. 12, 2000. During his command, he and his crew distinguished themselves by saving the American war ship from sinking. This event is widely recognized as one of the most brazen acts of terrorism by al Qaeda prior to Sept. 11, 2001.”

Lippold is the author of “Front Burner: Al Qaeda’s Attack on the USS Cole.”

This presentation was made possible through the efforts of Canfield Mayor Richard Duffett, the City of Canfield, and the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC). Seating is limited and attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

Ministry offering Valentines Day marriage seminar

COLUMBIANA– 321 Ministries will host a Valentines Day Date night from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 14 at Heck’s Restaurant, 610 E. Park Ave. Doors open at 5:45.

The event will include dinner buffet, sharing from two couples, and a time of prayer for your marriage. The cost for this event is $40 per couple.

Registration is required and payment due by Feb. 7. Registration is available online under marriage seminars in the events link at www.321ministries.org.

The first presenter will be the Rev. Steward and Sheila Murphy speaking on “Marriage: From Failure to Success.” Steward and Sheila have had many years of working in the Body of Christ. Steward has been serving in various pastoral roles and leading churches for over 25 years. Steward is also the author of the “Perspective of The Word” section of the 321 ministries website.

The second presenter will be Christopher and Coria Brock, founders of 321 Ministries, on the topic “From Husband and Wife to Dad and Mom.” When they first began their relationship they were on opposite side of the world and over time, with the help of the Lord, they built a family based on the foundation of Jesus Christ and His Word.
