Deadline to purchase ’20 dog licenses is still Jan. 31

LISBON- The deadline for purchasing Columbiana County 2020 dog licenses is Friday, Jan. 31. Mahoning County has extended their deadline to Feb. 29. This does not apply to Columbiana County, where fees will double on Feb. 1.

Columbiana County Auditor Nancy Milliken wishes to notify all dog owners who harbor dogs three months of age or older that they must license their dogs annually. Owners can still mail an application as long as the postmark on the envelope is stamped Jan. 31, 2020 by the post office. It is the owner’s responsibility to make sure the postmark is correct. Licenses can be purchased in the Auditor’s office at 105 S. Market St. or at any of the locations listed below. Owners may purchase licenses online at https://www.doglicenses.us/OH/Columbiana/, using Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit or debit cards.

Columbiana County Dog Pound, 8455 County Home Road, Lisbon

Fuller’s True Value, 162 N Market St., East Palestine

Milligan’s Hardware, 320 Smith St., East Liverpool

Pure Pet, 148 Penn Ave., Salem

Discount Drug Mart, 7626 state Route 45, Lisbon

The cost is $10 per dog, or $50 for a kennel license. Kennel licenses can only be purchased at the county Dog Pound.

Owners who fail to meet the registration deadline will be subject to a penalty that is equal to the cost of the license or kennel license, so it is important to register a dog on or before Friday, Jan. 31, 2020. After this date, licenses can only be purchased at the Auditor’s Office and the Columbiana County Dog Pound.
