Sebring announces guidelines for Feb. 26 kindergarten screening and B.L. Miller open enrollment
SEBRING –The Sebring School District is accepting appointments to screen students for our fall, 2020 kindergarten classes.
Call 330-938-2025 to schedule an appointment. Screening will be held Wednesday, Feb. 26.
Students must be 5 years old by Sept. 30 and live in the school district to be eligible for the 2020 kindergarten class.
The district has open enrollment for parents wishing to enroll children at BL Miller Elementary School. Those not living within the school district may apply for open enrollment by calling for an appointment. To be eligible for open enrollment, a student would need to be 5 years old by the date set by a home school district. Open enrolling families would need to register with their home school district first, and then before applying with Sebring.
Ohio Revised Code 3313.673 states that all first time kindergarten students must be screened.
Parents will need to bring the child’s birth certificate, immunizations records, Social Security card, proof of residency and custody papers (if applicable). All Items will be needed at this time and copied for the student’s record. Appointments will take about an hour. Children’s speech, hearing and vision will be checked during the appointment.
