LISBON – The Columbiana County Career and Technical Center (CCCTC) recently held its fourth annual opening ceremonies, local skills competitions, and closing awards ceremony for the two student skills organizations: SkillsUSA and Future Farmers of America (FFA).

All winners of the local SkillsUSA competitions will move on to regional competitions. The SkillsUSA regional competitions will be held Feb. 29 at the Ashtabula County Career and Technical Center Campus. The FFA regional and state competitions occur throughout the year.

Each year at the closing ceremonies, the CCCTC holds a Career Technical Student Organization Challenge to encourage students to become involved in the individual lab competitions and well as the leadership competitions. The winner is determined by points. Students are awarded various points for what place they come in during the competitions with first place receiving the most points and eighth place receiving the least.

For the third year straight, the Precision Machining and Manufacturing students were crowned the team champions for this challenge at the closing awards ceremony.
