BELOIT – East Goshen Friends Church, 16800 state Route 165, will host its monthly Messy Church from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday entitled Lovin’ in the Neighborhood. Messy Church is an all age worship experience that explores God’s love in an accessible way. This month participants will create, learn and celebrate together with a focus on serving and loving others. The event will end with a meal together. EAST ROCHESTER — The East Rochester United Methodist Church, 24754 state Route 30, will hold a Swiss Steak Dinner from 4 to 7:30 p.m. today. The meal will include slow roasted Swiss Steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw, applesauce, rolls, beverage and homemade pies and cakes.

The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Dine-in or carryout. All proceeds will benefit the church and local missions.

COLUMBIANA — The 2nd annual Chili Cook-off sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 10183 will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at the St. Jude Activity Center, 180 7th St. Admission is $10 and includes all the Chili samples, 10 voting tickets, salad, desert, coffee, tea and water. Cash bar and 50/50 raffle will also be available. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

DAMASCUS — Damascus United Methodist Church and Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church will hold their monthly community breakfast from 7 to 10:30 a.m. today at the Damascus church, 300 Valley Road. The breakfast features all-you-can-eat, made-to-order, pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, juice and coffee. Suggested donation is $6 for adults and $4 for children under 10. The breakfast proceeds will benefit the upcoming 2020 Summer Mission Trip to work with Jackson Area Ministries in Jackson, Ohio.

SALEM — The South Range Boys Basketball team will sponsor the Banquet in Salem from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include soup, lasagna, salad, applesauce, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and cupcakes. For Information call Patty Colian at 330-831-2169.

CANFIELD — Canfield Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 123 S. Broad St., will host Lenten breakfast from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. each Wednesday Feb. 26 through April 7. There is no charge, but free-will offerings will be accepted. For information call 330-533-2246.

NORTH LIMA — The North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, will show the movie “Mbreteria” at 6 p.m. Sunday. This tale of two sons was a winner of 23 film festival awards and is billed as “an uplifting family story from the vineyards of Kosovo.” Those who are hearing impaired will benefit from this showing given that if will be close-captioned in English. SALEM — The Fruitful Women Fellowship will begin meeting in February of 2020 and will focus on fellowship, teaching Biblical truth, learning how to love one another through prayer and service, and testimony sharing. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided and the group will be partnering with 321 Ministries to provide a children’s program, so children are also welcome. The first meeting is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St. The Fruitful Women Fellowship is a gathering of women who are seeking to grow in their personal faith, build community with one another, and also support each other in the challenges that we all face in this world. NORTH LIMA — Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave., will hold a drive-thru chicken dinner today from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. SALEM — The Salem Community Center, Salem Rotary Club and Salem Kiwanis Club will once again host the ever-popular fundraiser Fat Tuesday celebration “Feed the Salem Community Pantry.” The event will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the Salem Community Center. Tickets are available for a suggested donation of $10 each (children ages 10 and under are free) at the Salem Community Center, or from a Rotary or Kiwanis member. All proceeds will go to the Salem Community Pantry. The event features over 30 local individuals known as the Celebrity Chefs, who donate and/or serve prepared food items for participants to sample. Those interested in being a Celebrity Chef may contact Mindy Kenreigh at the Salem Community Center. The deadline to reserve a table is Monday, Feb. 17.
