LISBON — All Lions clubs in District OH-4 have canceled all meetings, fundraising and activities until further notice by order of Lions District Governor Tony Deluke. This includes Lisbon Lions Bingo, the annual Easter egg hunt at the county fairgrounds and the Night at the Races. The 90-Second Shopping Spree has been postponed to a later date to be announced.

St. Patrick pierogi sale
LEETONIA — St. Patrick Catholic Church has canceled its pierogi sale due to COVID-19. Organizer Suzanne Tobuck apologized for the need to stop the sale, but thanked all the customers for their support and volunteers for their hard work and dedication.

SALEM — The Salem High School Class of 1962 will not meet for breakfast until further notice.
Salem Hunting Club dinner
SALEM — The Salem Hunting Club’s Annual Wild Game dinner scheduled for today at the West Branch Athletic Boosters Hall is postponed until Saturday, Sept. 26 at the same location. Those who have tickets with the March 28 date should keep them and they will be valid for the new date. Additional questions may be directed to 330-506-6194 or 330-831-9847. Also, the SHC’s all you can eat breakfast on Saturday, April 4 is cancelled. Presumably the club will resume their monthly breakfast in May.

SALEM — All AMVETS Post 45 meetings scheduled for Sunday, March 29 are canceled.

SALEM — The Salem Eagles have canceled the following for the month of March: All remaining Lent Fish Fries, all remaining Band nights, calzone night and all Thursday Night Kitchen Specials.
Salem Parks activities
SALEM — Due to the national emergency created by the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, the Salem Parks and Recreation Department will be prohibiting any organized activities from taking place anywhere in the parks system until further notice. These organized activities include practices and games for recreational baseball and softball teams, pavilion rentals, Go Wild in the Park programs or any other organized event or activity. Bathroom facilities will remain closed until the end of March, as in years past. The Salem Parks offices will be closed to visitors but will remain open to park personnel. CC Board of Elections
LISBON — The Columbiana County Board of Elections lobby will be closed to the public until further notice. Following the recommended guidelines set forth by both the federal and state government, the office made the decision to not only protect the public, but the staff as well. The office remains staffed during regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday to assist the public via phone, fax, email and mail. Columbiana County residents are able to drop off absentee ballot requests in the main office doorway to be received by staff throughout the day. Voters wishing to obtain an absentee ballot request from the office can also find those forms in the main doorway. Additionally, the request form can be found on our website at www.columbiana.boe.ohio.gov.

First Presbyterian Church
COLUMBIANA — Worship and other in-person gatherings at First Presbyterian Church, 28 E. Park Ave., have been suspended. As of now the next public gathering for worship with be on Sunday, April 19.
County Auditor’s Office
LISBON — The Columbiana County Auditor’s Office will be closed to the general public. Some documents and/or applications can be submitted by mail and/or email. Physical mail should be sent to Columbiana County Auditor, 105 S. Market St., Lisbon, OH 44432. Email should be sent to email@example.com.
SEBRING — Sebring Presbyterian Church services and activities are canceled for March 29. An online service is planned for at 10:45 a.m. Sunday morning.
FRC group counseling
SALEM — Family Recover Center group counseling has been temporarily suspended. FRC is also utlizing telehealth, in an effort, to continue providing holistic counseling services to clients in Jefferson and Columbiana counties; especially clientele who are not feeling well. Telehealth will be made available to those who have access to technology and will be utilized for individuals receiving assessments, individual counseling sessions and case management. FRC buildings will remain open.
SCT postopones events
SALEM — The Salem Community Theatre (SCT) has postponed the upcoming production of “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” scheduled for May. Auditions for the summer production of “Beauty and the Beast” have also been placed on hold at this time. The theatre’s board of directors issued a statement saying they intend to stage the productions once the health professionals deem it safe for social activities to start back up. At that time rehearsals will begin again and production started, meaning there is no timeline for when the productions will take place. Season ticket holders will still receive the two productions even if they carry over into the “next season” in addition to another full season of SCT shows.
Deerfield dance canceled
DEERFIELD — The first Monday Deerfield Historical Society Dance is canceled for April 6.

DAMASCUS — As part of its preparedness planning, Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) is temporarily closing its SRMC Primary Care – Damascus practice effective immediately. This will enable SRMC to more efficiently utilize its primary care staff to care for future patients during the nation’s COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. During this temporary closure, the physicians based in Damascus will be relocated to SRMC’s other primary care office locations.

MCTRA, Ohio means jobs
YOUNGSTOWN — All Mahoning and Columbiana Training Association (MCTA) offices and the Mahoning and Columbiana Counties’ OhioMeansJobs (One-Stop) centers including the Oakhill Satellite have been closed to the public through Sunday, April 5. At this time, MCTA staff will continue to report to their assigned locations. Many services can be accessed online and staff will continue to assist customers via phone and email. Offices will re-open when deemed appropriate.
SALEM — The Salem Community Center (SCC), Center Circle and CenterPlex will be closed beginning Monday until at least Monday, April 6. All programs and classes are canceled or postponed. Some programs will be rescheduled for a later date. Rental and parties will be contact for rescheduling. Tu-Dor Physical Therapy/Phoenix Rehabilitation will remain open as normal for appointments. Lepper Library closed
LISBON — Lepper Library will be closed until schools reopen on Monday, April 6. There will be limited telephone help available during this time. While the book drop will continue to be open, there will be no overdue fines and holds will be suspended. All programming will also be canceled during this time. All online services, including eBooks and eAudio, will continue to be available. Check the library’s website and social media for updates.
Salem Library closed
SALEM — The Salem Public Library System is closing its facility and canceling all programs until at least April 6. All fines and late fees will be waived during this period. The library offers online access to eBooks and audiobooks on Overdrive as well as movies, eBooks and audiobooks on Hoopla. Leetonia Library drive-up
LEETONIA — The Leetonia Community Public Library will be limiting service to drive-up service only with the following hours: 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. The services will include holds pick-ups and book returns.

Mahoning County libraries
YOUNGSTOWN — The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) has closed all of its libraries through Friday, April 3. PLYMC libraries include those in Sebring and Greenford. Patrons are encouraged to use the Library’s website and digital services. Due dates on library materials will be extended, so that Library patrons will not be charged fines for the time the libraries are closed, including for materials checked out through PLYMC’s libraries. Additionally, fines will not be charged for Search Ohio materials currently on-loan. Book drops will not be available for the return of books during this time. Patrons are advised not to leave materials outside the libraries; this could lead to damaged materials and the patron would be charged for damages and/or replacement materials.
Mill Creek MetroParks
YOUNGSTOWN — Mill Creek MetroParks is cancelling all previously scheduled programs, events, lectures and facility rentals through at least April 5. Mill Creek MetroParks is also closing several indoor public facilities through at least April 5. In the event a registration fee or rental fee was paid, a full refund will be processed. Beginning March 13, the following Mill Creek MetroParks indoor locations will be closed to the public: MetroParks Farm Education Building and Animal Barns; all pavilions, cabins and reservable shelters; D.D. & Velma Davis Education and Visitors Center; Yellow Creek Lodge; Lanterman’s Mill; and Wick Warming House. All Mill Creek MetroParks outdoor locations will remain open including Mill Creek Park, Fellows Riverside Gardens, MetroParks Bikeway, Mill Creek Golf Course, James L. Wick Recreation Area, Scholl Recreation Area, Yellow Creek Park and all nature preserves.
Pizza Cook-Off postponed
YOUNGSTOWN — Potential Development School for Students with Autism has postponed its 2020 Mahoning Valley Pizza Cook-Off event scheduled for Sunday at Waypoint 4180. A new date will be announced once it becomes available.
Ohio Republican Party
COLUMBUS — The Ohio Republican Party will stop participation in any public facing events until April 12. This includes but is not limited to county party Lincoln Day Dinners, campaign appearances, and more. In addition, the Summit County Lincoln Day Dinner featuring Vice President Mike Pence will be postponed.
SRMC Foundation Gala
SALEM — Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) has postponed the SRMC Foundation Gala to a later date in 2020. The SRMC Foundation is in the process of rescheduling this event to a later date, which will be determined as the COVID-19 situation evolves in Ohio. Sponsors and guests, who have already purchased their tickets for the March 21 Gala, will be guaranteed a reservation when the event is rescheduled.
