Local pantries receive grant funding for equipment

YOUNGSTOWN – Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley recently partnered with the Ohio Association of Foodbanks to distribute grants to 12 food pantries.

The $40,500 in total grant funding will allow food pantries to purchase new equipment so that they can accept, store and distribute fresh, wholesome foods to struggling families.

The following local pantries were awarded grants: Oasis Food Ministry, $3,100; Southern Community Center of Salineville, $4,000; The Way Station-Columbiana, $700; The Way Station-East Liverpool, $4,300; and South Range Council of Church and Community, $2,200.
