Leetonia brush pickup
LEETONIA — Leetonia will hold brush pickup from Oct. 5-16. The village will start on the south side of town the week of Oct. 5and the north side the week of Oct. 12. Residents are asked to stack all cut brush in the curb lawn area. Do not restrict sidewalks, ditches or place material on the street. For the safety of the crew, brush should be stacked all in the same direction, with pieces not to exceed 6 feet in length. Use this service to take care of cleaning up brush and trimmings–entire trees, leaves and other debris will not be accepted. Leaf pick up will be held later this fall. Any brush put out after pick up has been completed will be the property owner’s responsibility to have hauled away at their expense.
WB BOE meeting
BELOIT– The West Branch school board will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday streamed live on the district’s Facebook page to swear in the newly appointed board member and enter executive session to consider personnel. Those wishing to comment should email their statement to any board member or the acting superintendent. Email addresses can be found on the district’s website.
Tutors for Poland
CANFIELD– The Mahoning County Educational Service Center will host a Virtual Hiring Event for individuals interested in becoming a licensed tutor in the Poland Local School District for the current school year. Interested participants are invited to learn more about positions available for the upcoming school year at 9 a.m. Friday. Participants are asked to have a resume in PDF format ready to email during the event. Interested participants will need to register ahead of time and can at this link: https://forms.gle/. Then a Zoom link will be emailed on Thursday, Sept. 24 for the hiring event. This event is organized by the Mahoning Valley Regional Council of Government (MVRCOG). 4th Thursday Banquet
SALEM– The 4th Thursday Drive Thru Banquet in Salem will be sponsored anonymously from 5 p.m. until the food is gone (no later than 7 p.m.) Thursday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include meatloaf, tater tots, baked beans, applesauce, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and pudding. Line up is behing the Memorial Building, with directions from a parking attendant. BELOIT– West Branch Athletic Boosters Bingo will be held at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at 26701 US Route 62 (former Westville Skating Rink). Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Jumpin’ Jackpot is at 51 numbers.
