Rabies vaccination clinic planned at Angels for Animals
CANFIELD– Mahoning County Public Health is offering a rabies vaccination clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 24 at Angels for Animals, 4750 W. South Range Road. Cost is $8 per shot (cash only) and no appointment is necessary. Pet owners must have their pets on a leash, in a cage, or carried inside a pillowcase. Facial coverings are required for the public while at the clinic.
This is a low-cost clinic that does not include a physical examination of the animal. Some additional veterinarian services are available, upon request, by Angels for Animals with applicable fees. The veterinary staff reserves the right not to vaccinate any animal in the event the animal appears to be in poor health. To receive the three-year booster, bring proof of prior rabies vaccination on or after Oct. 24, 2019. Without proof of prior vaccination, the pet will receive a one-year vaccination only.
Costs are kept to a minimum through a sponsorship from Mahoning County Public Health and volunteer services provided by Richard Nokes, D.V.M., and Angels for Animals.
