Residents warned of scam
LISBON — Columbiana County Treasurer Linda Bolon is warning about a scam heading this way.
One local taxpayer reported receiving a notice from J.S. Brown of the Benefits Suspensions Unit saying the letter is a final demand for non-payment of property taxes and threatening to seize their property.
She said the letter is bogus and urges the public to contact their local law enforcement if anyone shows up at their home claiming to be operating under this fraudulent order.
