SRMC Foundation Awards Kimble Scholarship to Carrie Blissenbach
SALEM – The Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) Foundation has awarded the 2020 George H. Kimble Scholarship to Carrie Blissenbach, a registered nurse at the hospital.
Blissenbach is currently pursuing a women’s health nurse practitioner designation.
The Kimble family originally established this scholarship in 2012 in memory of the late George H. Kimble as a way to support those pursuing a career in nursing, in honor of the tremendous nursing care and compassion Kimble experienced at SRMC.
The family chose to set up a scholarship book fund with the monies. Their intent was to provide financial assistance to members of the SRMC staff who are furthering their nursing education. The scholarship is awarded annually in October.
“We’re honored that the Kimble family has chosen to support the SRMC Foundation by establishing the George H. Kimble Scholarship,” said Amy Reed, SRMC Director of Development. “Our staff is extremely grateful for the Kimble family’s ongoing support over the years.”
Individuals wishing to make a gift to the George H. Kimble Scholarship may do so by contacting Reed at 330-337-2883. Gifts may also be made online by visiting www.salemregional.com/giving/srmc-foundation.
To mail a gift, send it to the SRMC Foundation, 1995 E. State St., Salem, Ohio 44460 and indicate that the gift is to be directed toward the George H. Kimble Scholarship Fund.
