West Branch Lady Ruritans receive group awards

NORTH GEORGETOWN– The West Branch Area Ladies Ruritan Club met March 15 at the First Brethren Church in North Georgetown. Shirley Logdon was the hostess.

Vice President Bev Yaggi led the meeting. She asked Viola Blanchard to lead the ladies with the “Pledge of Allegiance” and singing “God Bless America.” Then she gave a prayer. Treasurer Mary Belle Metzgar gave her report.

Ohio District Lt. Gov. John Biery came to the meeting to give the group their rewards. The club received gold for Citizen and Patriotism, Enviroment, Public Service, Business and professions; and bronze for Social Development. The club also received a reward from Operation We Care Program.

Members voted to help with the Back Pack project. There were 75 valentines made and given to a nursing home, and walker bags and lap robes were sent to a nursing home.

All Zone 6 group donated 27 books to third graders at the West Branch Early Learning Center.

The next meeting will be held April 19.
