Aultman Hospital offering free virtual health programs for the community

Aultman Hospital presents the following free virtual HealthTalks programs during the month of April. All sessions will be held on Zoom and reservations are required. April 7: ABCs of Medicare will be presented by a representative of AultCare’s PrimeTime Health Plan at 10 a.m. via Zoom. This educational meeting will help individuals and their loved ones navigate through the Medicare network as they prepare for tomorrow.

April 7: So You’re Having a Sleep Study? will be presented by James Mathie, LPN, RPSGT, at noon via Zoom. This presentation will explore the ins and outs of having a sleep study. From a virtual tour of Aultman’s hotel-like sleeping rooms to the staff who will conduct the study, learn what to expect and how to prepare.

April 14: Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease will be presented by Terry Tegtmeier, M.D., at noon via Zoom. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of adults. Learn how coronary artery disease develops and how plant-based nutrition has been shown to prevent, stop and even reverse heart disease.

April 16: Early Alzheimer’s Detection will be presented by Melissa Chambers, PCHA, CDP, CADDCT, SWAD VDT-CT, at noon via Zoom. If a loved one is experiencing memory loss or behavioral changes, it’s time to learn the facts. Early detection of Alzheimer’s disease provides opportunities to begin drug therapy, enroll in clinical studies and plan for the future.

April 19: Social Media for Beginners will be presented by Tracy Brewer at 1 p.m. via Zoom. Join Brewer to explore the basics of each popular social media platform and find the answers to common questions!

April 21: Plant-perfect Diet will be presented by Adene Keller, BSN, RN-C, at 6 p.m. via Zoom. Learn how to start a plant-based diet shown to help prevent, stop and even reverse heart disease. Keller will discuss how to shop for and prepare heart-healthy food.

April 22: ABCs of Medicare will be presented by a representative of AultCare’s PrimeTime Health Plan at 10 a.m. via Zoom. This educational meeting will help individuals and their loved ones navigate through the Medicare network as they prepare for tomorrow.

April 30: New Surgical Treatments for Lung Cancer will be presented by Harry J. D’Agostino, Jr., M.D., FACS, at noon via Zoom. Lung cancer is the No. 1 cancer killer of both men and women. Detected early, lung cancer can be cured. This presentation will focus on the ways to identify lung cancer early and the minimally invasive surgery used to treat it.
