Fairfield zoning appeals hearing

The Fairfield Township Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing regarding a variance for accessory structure location at 44809 state Route 517, Columbiana, at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Swope Meeting Room of the Fairfield Township Administration Building located at 3062 Fairfield School Road. This meeting is open to the public and all interested parties are invited to attend. An incorrect date was published in Tuesday’s edition.

Online auction under way

The North Lima Mennonite Church has an online auction through Sept. 23. Bids can be made by visiting baerauctions.hibid.com. Items need to be picked up at the church on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. to noon. Baked goods will be available for purchase when auction items are picked up.

Youth Day at Salem Hunting Club

Saturday is the 38th annual Youth Day event at The Salem Hunting Club, 564 N. Indiana Ave., is free and open to girls and boys ages 8 to 15. All kids will receive T-shirts, there will be free food and kids can participate in archery, .22 rifle, black powder and trap under the supervision of range officers. Trophies will be awarded to the best shooters in each age bracket. Registration starts at 8 a.m., the event kicks off at 9 a.m. and last call registration is 10 a.m. Everything needed is provided by The Salem Hunting Club. Call 330-831-9847 for information.

Ruritans sponsor stock up sales

The Winona Ruritans are now taking orders for their Winter Stock Up Sales of whole hog sausage and homemade scrapple. Pick up is Oct. 9. To place an order contact any club member or Lee Stamp at 330-831-8969, Homer Althouse at 330-222-1863 or Bob Doyle at 330-509-5486.

Remove decorations from cemeteries

The Salem Township Board of Trustees announced Tuesday that all summer decorations must be removed from Salem Township cemeteries by Oct. 1.

The cemeteries include Hart Cemetery on state Route 45, Franklin Square Cemetery on Salem Grange Road, the cemetery on McCracken Road and Burger Cemetery on Lisbon-Canfield Road near St. Jacob-Logtown Road.

Place orders for Sept. 25 meatloaf sale

Orders must be placed by Sept. 20 for Salem First United Methodist Church’s meatloaf sale. Pick up is Sept. 25 at the church, 244 S. Broadway Ave. Cost is $8 for a 1-pound loaf and $16 for a 2-pound one. Ham loaves also available for the same price. Call 330-337-9531 to place an order.
