Meet the candidates at WB
The West Branch Local Schools will host a “Meet the Candidates for School Board Night” at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25 in the high school auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. There are four candidates currently running for three seats on the West Branch School Board. Candidates include Joe Courtwright, Bryan Hobbins, Courtney Stryffeler and David Yaggi. Each of the candidates will be asked questions in a formal part of the evening. After the formal question and answer section the audience will be able to speak with the candidates one-on-one.
Veterans Day breakfasts
Columbiana Middle School will host a Veterans Day breakfast at 9 a.m. Nov. 12. The breakfast will be followed by a short program. Veterans wishing to attend are asked to call the middle school at 330-482-5354 or email Megan.Cowan@columbianaschools.org by Oct. 29.

Winona museum hours
The October Winona Area Historical Society Museum hours for visitors are 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. These will be the last scheduled hours until the spring, but private tours can be arranged by contacting Robert at 330-831-4502 or Derek at 330-424-2308. The museum and Quaker meeting house are located at the corner of Winona Road and Cameron Street.
Stuffed peppers at Banquet
Salem Healthcare West will sponsor the drive thru Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until food is gone, no later than 7 p.m., Monday at the Salem Memorial Building. Meals are limited to one per individual in the vehicle and include stuffed peppers, mashed potatoes, vegetable, salad, fruit cocktail and pie. Smith Grange dinner
The Smith Grange, 11090 Beloit Snodes Road, will host a drive thru Swiss steak dinner Saturday, with pick up from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost is $12 per dinner. For reservations call 330-614-3846 or 330-257-2980.
Salem schools meeting
Salem City Schools will hold a public participation meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday in the high school library to discuss all Federal Funding Programs and gather public input.
Stuffed pork chop dinner
Barber Drive Barbeque will hold a take out stuffed pork chop dinner from noon to 4 p.m. or until sold out Sunday at Good Hope Lutheran Church, 12030 Market St., North Lima. Middleton Twp. clean up
Middleton Township will hold a township clean up day for township residents only from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the township’s material storage lot at the east end of Negley. Items to be accepted include furniture, mattresses, washers, dryers, stoves and scrap metal. Items NOT being accepted include any appliance containing freon, paint, used motor oil, batteries, televisions, electronics of any kind and hazardous materials. The township will also be accepting scrap passenger car and light truck tires at $1 each to help offset the cost of transporting the tires to a tire recycler. Tires need to be free of debris and water. No tires on rims will be accepted. There is a limit of 10 tires per resident.
KnitWits at Rodman
The KnitWits, a circle for needleworkers of all types and skill levels, has resumed meeting at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month at the Main Rodman Public Library. The group is always seeking new members and donations of yarn. For information call 330-821-2665, ext. 107.
