Sloppy joe’s featured at Banquet in Salem
Salem Community Foundation’s Youth in Philanthropy will sponsor the 4th Thursday Drive Thru Banquet in Salem Thursday from 5 p.m. until the food is gone, no later than 7 p.m., at the Salem Memorial Building. One meal per individuals in vehicle. The menu will include sloppy joe’s, cheesy shredded potatoes, corn, applesauce, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, pudding. Veterans Day breakfasts planned
This Friday, Oct. 29 is the deadline to register for the Veterans Day breakfasts at Columbiana Schools. The high school program is at 9 a.m. Nov. 11. The middle school program is at 9 a.m. , Nov. 12. ‘Friends and Family Trivia Night’ set
The 5th annual “Friends and Family Trivia Night” will be hosted by the East Palestine Community Foundation. The event will be held Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021 in the East Palestine Park Community Center. The competition will begin at 7 p.m. A team can have up to 10 members and the entry fee is $100 per team. The winning team will receive $200 with second place winning $100. The Foundation raises funds t o benefit the community.
Drive thru spaghetti dinner planned
The Columbiana Meals on Wheels will host a drive thru spaghetti dinner, October 30 from 3-6 p.m. (or until sold out). Suggested donation: $10 per meal which includes: Spaghetti & meatballs, salad, bread and cookie. The drive thru will be at Firestone Park, Columbiana, Pavilion #4 (Duck Pond). The Columbiana Meals on Wheels is a 501C3-non-profit, self funded program that relies on donations to support its mission. For advanced ordering please call – 330-482-0366.
Career exploration event set at CCCTC
The Columbiana County Career and Technical Center will be hosting a career exploration event for county students in grades 6-8 and their families on October 28,from 6-8 p,m. During this time, students and their families will have the opportunity to visit and tour the labs at the CCCTC, meet the instructors, and learn about the skills that students obtain by attending the CCCTC during their junior and senior years. Attendees will be able to enjoy refreshments and are eligible to win prizes. Call 330-424-9561 with any questions.
Preschool opens enrollment for 3 year olds
The First Presbyterian Preschool has opened enrollment for 3 year olds. Financial assistance is available following the guidelines of Job and Family services. Preschool hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and children have the opportunity to learn academic skills, develop fine and gross motor along with social-emotional skills all while having fun. Salem Amvets hosting Trunk or Treat
Salem Sons of Amvets Post 45 is hosting Trunk or Treat Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. at the Amvets post, 750 South Broadway Salem. The event is open to public children, with treats being passed out from vehicle trunks. Cash prizes for best costumes. Hot dogs and chips will be provided. Vehicle parking and line up is in South parking lot at the Post on South Broadway Ave.
Salem band to hold annual fruit sale
The Salem High School “Pride of Salem Marching Band” is holding its annual fruit sale through Oct. 31 featuring assorted boxes of Pee Jay’s Fresh Fruit which includes California navel and Florida juice oranges, tangelos, red grapefruit, Red Delicious apples, Anjou pears, golden pineapples, trio and citrus mix boxes, assorted cheesecakes including plain, chocolate medley, and fruit sampler varieties, plus specialty holiday gift baskets. All proceeds generated from the sale are used toward student activities, incidental purchases, and competition travel expenses.
