2025 dog license renewal applications being mailed out
LISBON — The 2025 dog license renewal applications will be mailed out on Friday to all registered dog owners. In compliance with Ohio Revised Code 955.01, all dogs 3 months of age and older, harbored in Columbiana County, must be licensed. Keep in mind that the actual 2025 dog licenses will not be sold in person, processed online or mailed out until Dec. 1. Dog owners must purchase their license by Jan. 31. For those who have purchased multi-year licenses for any of their dogs and they have the year 2025 on the license or later, they will not be listed on the application and do not need renewed.
The preferred method of purchasing 2025 dog licenses is by mail or online at https://www.doglicenses.us/OH/Columbiana. Make sure to be on the correct website when purchasing the dog licenses. It should clearly state it is the Columbiana County Auditor’s website with pictures of Auditor Nancy Milliken on the homepage. Fraudulent sites have been reported. A convenience fee will be assessed for all electronic transactions. Owners will be able to buy their licenses in person at the Auditor’s office, the Dog Pound or at one of the satellite providers. Owners can find a list of these providers and their available hours on the auditor’s website or by calling the auditor’s office. These satellite providers only sell licenses from Dec. 1 through Jan. 31. The registration fee for the one-year license is $12, the three-year license is $36 and the permanent license is $120. Owners should be aware that these longer-term licenses can be bought online, by mail or in person at the auditor’s office only; and are non-refundable in the event of the death of the animal. The cost of each one-year license is $12.75 when purchased at a satellite provider with cash, check or money order only, no credit cards accepted.
Those who received a pre-printed application in the mail should mail the bottom of the application with their payment or bring if coming in person. Without a completed application, identification showing name and current address will be required in order to buy dog licenses. The auditor’s office and the dog pound will be accepting Visa, MasterCard, Discover and debit cards, in addition to cash, checks and money orders. If paying with cash, bring exact amount.
Dog license applications and payments may also be mailed to the Columbiana County Auditor’s Office at 105 S. Market St., Lisbon, OH, 44432, with a postmark no later than Jan 31, 2025. A penalty of $12 per license will be applied after Jan 31. Those who no longer have their dog should mark this on their application and return so that the office may update their account.
Those who do not receive their application by Nov. 22 should call 330-424-9515 ext. 1006 and one will be mailed. All kennel licenses will be processed by mail only through the auditor’s office.
