Knox Twp. road work

Westville Lake Road in Knox Township will be under traffic control between Center and Buck roads during daytime hours Feb. 4 and 5 for subsurface investigation-soil borings. Cernica Engineering Inc./Chatfield Drilling Inc. will complete the $5,000 project funded by the Columbiana County Engineer’s Office.

Negley breakfast canceled

The Negley VFD community breakfast scheduled for Sunday has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.

Recorder appointment

LISBON — Columbiana County Recorder Jim Armeni announced Tuesday that he accepted an appointment to the Ohio Recorders Association Legislative Committee.

Patricia Oyer, Carroll County recorder and Ohio Recorders Association president, selected Armeni to fill the three-year term.

“I am looking forward for the opportunity to work with the committee to monitor the state legislature’s introduction of bills being considered and how it will impact the County Recorders’ offices and Ohio residents,” Armeni said, adding, “I have experienced the process with the state legislators on passing laws, it takes strong and effective leadership and patience.”

Armeni was re-elected to a second four-year term as Columbiana County Recorder in November and also serves as a trustee with Perry Township.

EP Eagles drive thru dinner

SPARK Story Tellers

The SPARK Story Tellers will appear at the historic Trinity Playhouse at 234 Lincoln Way in Lisbon on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available online or at the door. Eight SPARK (Story Telling to Promote Acceptance, Respect and Kindness) Story Tellers will present original stories around the theme “And That’s Love!” Just in time for Valentine’s Day, join the local Story Tellers as they recount times in their lives when love made them laugh, made them cry, or almost left them speechless. Columbiana library board

The Columbiana Public Library Board of Trustees is announcing a vacant seat on the board. The position to be filled is for an unexpired term (June 2025). The Library Board of Trustees will review applications, hold interviews, and make a recommendation to the Columbiana Board of Education, which will make the appointment. Applicants must live in the Columbiana Village School District. Anyone interested in the volunteer position of library trustee should mail a resume and letter of interest stating the desire to serve on the board to Laura Nappi, President, Columbiana Public Library, 332 N. Middle St., Columbiana, OH 44408. Applications are being accepted through Feb. 14.
