Banquet in Salem
Bob and Linda Sebo will sponsor the Dine in or Drive Thru Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Monday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, applesauce, fresh vegetables and fruit, and cookies. Dine in will park behind the building and proceed to the front door. Drive thru will line up in the lot behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle. No parking in the library lot. SHS ’76 meeting
Salem High School Class of 1976 Class Coordinators Melissa Niederhiser and Audrey Null invite classmates to a planning meeting for the 50th reunion in 2026. The meeting will take place on Saturday, March 8, at 10 a.m. at the Salem High School Alumni Association office. All class members are welcome to attend. Super Heroes
Tom Molocea will host Super Hero Saturday March 1 at Andrews Hall, at Angels for Animals in Canfield. Doors open at 10 a.m. and activities run through 4 p.m. Comic book and toy appraisals will be available throughout the day. Vendors will have comic books, collectible figures and toys and more. Admission is $5 per person and $10 per family. Proceeds from this event are donated to Angels for Animals to help the shelter provide veterinary care, and everyday care, supplies and simply support for our animals in the shelter waiting for their forever homes. LISBON — Upcoming programming at the Lepper Library includes:
February Craft-Card Making Class, Thursday, Feb. 13, choice of class times 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. With all of the components, this will be simple class where you can design two holiday cards: Valentine’s Day and Easter. Brought in part by the Ohio Arts Council.
Dementia & Communicating Effectively by Mary Ertle, Program Director Alzheimer’s Association, Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. This program will teach how dementia affects patients and will include tips for communicating well with family, friends and health care professionals.
Genealogy Program by Tim Seman, Thursday, Feb. 20, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Genealogy and Local History Librarian Tim Seman will be presenting a program focusing on Mahoning County Genealogy. No registration required.
Cookbook BINGO!, Thursday, Feb. 27 at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy a game where the prizes are cookbooks, along with other surprise prizes.
Toddler Storytime (ages 3 and under), Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Each week, the group continues to help develop toddlers’ skills with a themed story, songs and activities.
Preschool Storytime, Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Each Storytime program supports early literacy and socialization with age-appropriate stories, crafts, rhymes, and more.
Winter Reading Mission: During January and February, stop by the circulation desk to get a Winter Reading Mission packet and complete it to win a prize.
Teen Craft Diamond Art, Saturday, Feb. 15, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Diamond Art Bookmarks, no registrations required, create a diamond art bookmark while enjoying a snack.
Home School Hour, Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 2 to 3 p.m. Stop by the library and enjoy some informal play time while building with air-dry clay.
Evening Storytime, Monday, Feb. 24, at 6 p.m. Wear pajamas for a snowman themed story time with a snack and craft.
NOAS training
NOAS invites Ohio couples and singles to register for its free Foster Care & Foster-to-Adopt Pre-Placement In-Person Training Blitz this February. This immersive weekend training event allows participants to complete all required training hours in just three days. The sign-up deadline is Friday, Feb. 21.
