SEBRING – Sebring McKinley Cheerleaders will advance to the OASSA State Cheerleading Championship in Columbus on Feb. 22 at Big Walnut High School. This is the first time in 11 years that the cheer team will be represented at the state level.
The squad earned its way to state through its top-placements during competition season, during which, the squad took first place in the High School Gameday Building Division at the Bulldog Rumble in January. In early February, they placed at the OASSA Regional Competition at Lake High School, awarding them their spot at state.
“This is a huge accomplishment for the squad,” said Sebring Cheer Head Coach Cassy Wynn. “They have put in an incredible amount of effort, and it’s great to see their hard work pay off.”
The self-funded squad is seeking monetary donations to help support their travel expenses as they compete for the state title.
Monetary donations can be mailed to 225 E. Indiana Ave., Sebring, OH 44672. Checks can be made out to “Sebring Football Boosters” with a memo to “Sebring Cheer.”
