Lepper Library
Lepper Library in Lisbon will host a Storytime geared around St. Patrick’s Day at 4:30 p.m. Monday, with a story about leprechauns, building a leprechaun trap and a snack. The library will also host a Home School Hour from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday in which young patrons can stop by the children’s department for an informal meet-up and use a 3D Doodler pen to make 3D drawings.
Shelter pets
Columbiana County Humane Society will host Shelter Pets are Souper from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at Columbiana First Presbyterian Church, 28 E. Park Ave., Columbiana. The menu options include $10 soup meal of soup, salad, bread and dessert; meatball sub for $10; or $8 quart of soup to go; eat in or take out.
ULSD enrollment
The United Local School District is accepting applications for open enrollment students for the 2025-2026 school year. New students who reside outside the district, but wish to attend United Local on open enrollment status for the 2024-2025 school year may pick up applications in the Main office door #8, or Admin office door #3 at 8143 state Route 9, Hanoverton, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., beginning Monday, April 1. All applications must be completed and returned by June 9. Open enrollment students may have to provide their own transportation. Craft show
West Point Lions Club will host its Spring Craft Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Lions Club at 38240 Industrial Park Road, Lisbon. The event will include Chinese auction items, homemade baked goods and refreshments available. Vendors are needed at $25 per space. Chicken BBQ
The Fairfield Ruritans will be holding their Annual Spring Chicken Barbecue on Saturday, April 5, at Grace Church on Main Street in Columbiana from 4 to 6 p.m. Dinner includes half a barbecue chicken, baked potato, green beans, applesauce and dessert. Drive thru only. Tickets are $12 presale or $13 the day of the dinner. For information see a Ruritan member or call 330-482-0991. Proceeds go to the club’s scholarship fund and community projects.
Easter egg hunt
Foster Farms Therapeutic Center Annual Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. April 13, at 6497 E. South Range Road, Petersburg. The event is free to the community and includes a Chinese auction to benefit the center, selfies with the Easter Bunny, bounce house, pony rides, petting zoo, food booth and Easter egg hunt.
Rummage sale
Trinity United Methodist Church, 2427 Columbiana Road, New Springfield, will hold a rummage sale on Friday, March 28, and Saturday, March 29. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Saturday is half price from 9 a.m. to noon and fill a bag for $1 from noon to 2 p.m.. There is clothing, household items, Christmas decorations, furniture and more. If interested in donating items call Bonnie Black at 330-272-7206 or 330-457-7107 and leave a message if there is no answer to set up times to drop off items at the church. Donations will be accepted until March 21.
