SALEM – It has been 54 years since the Quota Club of Salem began providing low-cost speech and hearing therapy to the surrounding communities at its Salem Area Speech and Hearing Clinic, located in the Emmanuel Lutheran Educational Building on South Broadway in Salem.
The Emmanuel Lutheran Church has allowed the Speech and Hearing Clinic to use the Educational Building every Saturday so that children and adults who have speech-language-hearing impairments can receive the help they need to improve their communication skills.
Therapy at the Speech and Hearing Clinic is provided by Kent State University students who are in the graduate program for Speech Pathology. The students are supervised by two Ohio licensed Speech-Language Pathologists. Last year the clinic provided 703 therapy sessions for those in need.
For information regarding the clinic or to receive an enrollment application, call the clinic coordinator at 480-249-6989 or the clinic director at 330-853-5352.
