COLUMBIANA — The Indigo Family Theater will present “The Importance of Being Earnest,” a comedy by Oscar Wilde, at the Best Western Plus Dutch Haus Inn & Suites in Columbiana.

Showtimes are Thursday, June 19, through Saturday, June 21, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, June 22, at 2 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes before each performance. 

Tickets for reserved seating can be purchased online at indigofamilytheater.org/tickets and general admission tickets will be available to purchase at the door at $20 for adults, $10 for children under 13.

In this Victorian comedy, Jack and Algernon live double lives in order to avoid social pressure and responsibilities. But when they discover that the girls they love are more interested in their alter egos, the two friends’ carefully laid deceptions will unravel and they will discover the vital importance of being “Ernest!” Oscar Wilde’s signature witty banter and critiques of contemporary social manners and expectations shine in this charming play that will delight the whole family.

The show features a cast of 11 local amateur performers and is presented by Indigo Family Theater, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing wholesome theatrical entertainment.
