MINERVA — Minerva will host a free concert on the Municipal Park stage on Saturday, June 28, from 7 to 9 p.m., featuring Bealtaine from Pittsburgh.
Bealtaine plays Irish, Scottish, and Canadian Maritime folk, contemporary, and traditional tunes and working-class anthems. The five members play guitars, bouzouki, Uillean pipes, accordion, whistles, harmonica, bodhran, and more.
The Sandy Springs Brewing Co. beer truck will be on hand, so bring chairs or blankets and enjoy an evening of family entertainment.
This performance is sponsored by the Village of Minerva and the Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce.
On Thursday, June 26, 10:30 a.m., Minerva’s Municipal Park will host “Wildlife Rescue,” a Stark Parks program, at the stage, followed by lunch with Minerva Schools Resource Officer Tony Albertoni.
Meet some of Stark Parks live animal ambassadors. These animals cannot be released back into the wild due to their injuries, and we will hear each of their stories during the presentation. Guests will also find out what to do if they find an injured wild animal.
The program is free, interesting for all ages, and will last approximately an hour. Do not bring dogs to the program, as they frighten the ambassador animals.
Families are invited to bring packed lunches and stay for lunch with Albertoni following the program.
Attendees should bring chairs or blankets to sit on. Municipal Park is located on Second Street, adjacent to Minerva High School, 501 Almeda Ave., Minerva.
