Hicks and Hayseeds 4-H Club holds July meeting

The Hicks and Hayseeds 4-H club met July 1. Members worked on the booth that they will display at the fair.

The meeting started with pledges, roll call, secretary’s report and treasurer’s report. The president read clinics dates and 4-H project book grading dates.

The club watched demonstrations from Hunter Casto and Logan Casto. Hunter showed the group how to read a feed tag; Logan shared about the tags that get put on baggage at airports.

The meeting concluded with refreshments and cookies.

The Columbiana County fair will take place July 27 through Aug. 3. Livestock animals such as steers and dairy beef feeders will be sold Thursday, July 31 at 6 p.m. Hogs, lambs, turkeys, chickens, rabbits, and goats will be sold on Saturday, Aug. 2 beginning at 9 a.m.
