YOUNGSTOWN – Darryl G. Hipps, a Green Township resident, convicted of having child pornography in May, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

He was charged in March of 2015 with pandering obscenity and pleaded guilty to five counts of the second-degree felony charges before Mahoning County Common Pleas Court Judge John M. Durkin in May and was sentenced on July 6.

Hipps, 54, was indicted by the Mahoning County grand jury in May of 2015 on five counts each of pandering obscenity involving a minor and pandering sexually-oriented material involving a minor after authorities searching his home reported finding videos and images of girls, some as young as 3 years old, engaged in sex acts with adult men and women.

He was also designated a Tier 2 sex offender and means he will have to register where he lives and works with the county sheriff for 25 years.
