POLICE REPORTS

SALEM

— Officers responded to Waterworth Memorial Park off Sunset Drive at 1:35 p.m. Sunday in reference to a suspicious vehicle. The driver said he was going through some personal issues and wanted a quiet place to sit.

— Logan D. Brown, 20, Camp Boulevard, Hanoverton, was cited for possession of marijuana paraphernalia following a traffic stop in the 600 block of Franklin Avenue at 1:46 p.m. Sunday.

— Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of West Fifth Street at 4:33 p.m. Sunday where a woman reported a family member had pushed her during an argument, although she was not injured. Both individuals involved were advised of their options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Aetna Street at 4:50 p.m. Sunday where a resident reported the home next to him is vacant, but a man is living in the garage. Officers spoke with the man who said that he had purchased the property and was working on the garage with permission from the city housing department. He was advised that he cannot live in the garage and that there has been a complaint about him urinating outside on the property. There will be a follow up with the housing department to ensure the man is permitted on the property.

— An officer responded to an unruly juvenile complaint in the 1700 block of East Third Street at 5:21 p.m. Sunday. The officer spoke with the juvenile and parents and advised them of their options.

— An officer responded to a 2300 block East State Street business at 7:05 p.m. Sunday where an elderly man had dropped off his wife then proceeded to move the vehicle unaware that his wife was leaning on it for balance, causing her to fall. The wife was transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital.

— Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1700 block of East State Street at 9:07 p.m. Sunday where a woman reported her boyfriend at the residence was intoxicated and would not give her cell phone back to her. There was no violence reported and the boyfriend returned the phone. The woman left the area.

— Officers responded to a 500 block Continental Drive home at 9:37 p.m. Sunday to check on the well-being of a juvenile at the request of her grandparents. Officers spoke with the juvenile and her mother who both admitted to arguing since she returned home from staying with a relative. The juvenile went to stay the night with her grandparents.

— Officers responded to a 400 block Franklin Avenue home at 9:47 p.m. Sunday in reference to a 911 call from a male individual who said unknown people were attempting to assault him. Officers found multiple people on scene and determined that an unknown vehicle had pulled into the driveway, at which time an argument ensued in which his girlfriend was hit in the face by another woman. All people involved separated and declined medical attention. No one wanted to pursue the matter.

— Mason A. Taylor, 18, East Liverpool, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 100 block of South Broadway Avenue at 10:12 p.m. Sunday.

— Logan J. Stancato, 20, Boxwood Drive, Beloit, was arrested on active warrants out of both Mahoning and Columbiana counties for failure to appear for aggravated menacing and a parole violation for felony receiving stolen property following a traffic stop at Benton Road and West State Street at 10:23 p.m. Sunday.

PERRY TWP.

— Ryan A. George, 31, Alliance, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Elberon Avenue at 9:50 a.m. Oct. 18. Two passengers, Michael E. Ingledue, 44, Salem; and Candace L. Fraser, 29, Salem, were arrested on felony warrants. Both passengers were transported to a designated location and turned over to the respective agencies that issued the warrants.

— An 1800 block Allen Road resident at 2:37 p.m. Oct. 19 requested information regarding a groundhog problem. An officer advised the resident of the regulations regarding discharging a weapon in the township to dispatch an animal.

— A Salem resident at 6:58 p.m. Oct. 19 requested a welfare check on an 800 block West Pine Lake Road resident and her child after he responded to the home when his girlfriend could not contact the resident and he saw her partaking in drug activity in front of the child. Officers responded to the home but found no one at home. A report was faxed to children services. Officers performed a welfare check again the following day and spoke with the resident. Everything was okay.

— An officer responded to a 900 block Elberon Avenue home at 8:04 p.m. Oct. 19 in reference to a juvenile who snuck out of the house. Officers later found the child at a gas station in Salem,

— Police conducted a welfare check on a male individual in the 1500 block of Depot Road at 5:05 p.m. Saturday in reference to a situation on a social media website. Officers found a juvenile who claimed to the homeowner to be 18 years old and in need of a place to stay. The juvenile was found to have run away from home in Youngstown and was turned back over to his parents.

— Christian Dowdy, 22, was arrested on an active warrant out of Columbiana County at a 300 block Springdale Avenue home at 9:51 p.m. Saturday.

— An officer responded to Cry Baby Bridge on Egypt Road at 10:22 p.m. Saturday in reference to a noose hanging from the bridge. The noose was located and removed.

— Samantha L. Morgan, 25, Salem, was arrested at a 1700 block Painter Road home at 12:17 a.m. Sunday on an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office for possession of drugs.

— Byron E. Surgeon, 77, Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign following a two-vehicle crash at state Route 344 and Cunningham Road at 12:31 p.m. Sunday in which he failed to yield from the stop sign and struck a westbound vehicle driven by a juvenile male. No injuries were reported.

LEETONIA

— Officers responded to a 200 block Elm Street home at 9:16 p.m. Oct. 19 where the resident reported two people were in his vehicle and ran away when he saw them. The officers searched the area for the two people, but were unable to find them. They returned to the home where the resident said the people were in his vehicle and he heard one the of the officers talking to one of the suspects. He also said one of the suspects was throwing stones at the shrubs and one of them was in the officer’s cruiser putting the windows up and down. He was assured that no one had been in the cruiser and advised to lock his vehicle and house doors and call the police if anyone returned.

— Domanic Bosley, Oak Street, Leetonia, was cited for failure to yield following a two-vehicle crash at State and Hazel streets at 2:37 p.m. Saturday in which he was southbound and attempted to make a right turn after stopping at the stop sign, pulling into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by Taylor Fairbanks, 20, Columbia Street, Leetonia. No injuries were reported.

— Gloria Lykens (aka Rogenski), 28, Youngstown, was arrested on multiple active warrants out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office and Austintown Police Department after an officer responded to a 200 block Front Street home at 12:14 a.m. Sunday where her boyfriend reported she had barricaded him out of their apartment. He also reported that she had been drinking while being four months pregnant. Lykens was uncooperative throughout the investigation and booking and a sheriff’s deputy had to respond to the police station to take custody of her. While on station with Lykens, the officer had to return to the apartment to remove a male individual who was refusing to leave.

COLUMBIANA

— A man reported criminal mischief in the 300 block of Quincy Avenue at 3:15 a.m. Sunday.

— John Susan, Beechwood Drive, reported at 8:31 a.m. Sunday someone either threw or poured a bottle of root beer at or over his riding lawn mower.

— Police were called to 104 Park Court at 3:23 a.m. Sunday for a report of a man sleeping in the hallway. The man was subsequently pink-slipped following the investigation.

— Lonna M. Moraski, address not listed, reported at 11:42 a.m. Sunday her ex-boyfriend was sending her harassing messages on Facebook.

— Sara E. Armstead, 32, Lisbon, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on South Avenue at 5:57 p.m. Sunday.

— A woman, name and address not listed, reported at 12:40 a.m. Saturday that shortly after returning home from shopping she heard the front door open and when she went to investigate she found no one around.

— A Rite Aid employee reported at 2:15 p.m. Saturday a man tried several times to purchase items at the South Avenue store with someone else’s check. An investigation is pending.

LISBON

— Rebecca Hill, Saltwell Road, reported at 10:57 p.m. Oct. 16 someone stole her stamps out of her wallet.

— Police were called to a Lincoln Way apartment at 9:47 p.m. Thursday to serve a warrant on Harry L. Ehrhart III, 46, Lisbon, for assault. Ehrhart told police that county sheriff’s deputies were already at the home and he was not going to jail. After a brief confrontation Ehrhart was placed under arrest for the warrant and additional charges are pending.
