DeWayne H. Klinger

EAST PALESTINE — DeWayne H. Klinger, 82, of East Palestine, died Wednesday at the St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center in Columbiana.

He was born July 10, 1936 in Warsaw, Ind., son of the late Howard and Mildred Bickel Klinger.

DeWayne resided in Indiana prior to moving to East Palestine, where he has lived the past several years. He retired as a supervisor for Purolator Couriers after 20 years of service and also worked as a truck driver prior.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Evalyn Stanley Klinger; two sons, Rocky (Bev) Klinger of Three Rivers, Mich., Mike (Melissa) Smith of East Palestine; five daughters, Debra (Martha) Klinger of Denver, Colo., Pam (Mark) Faulk of Claypool, Ind., Karen (Pat) Ihnen of Silver Lake, Ind., Penny Miller of Warren and Holly Pratt of Warsaw, Ind.; 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; and a brother, Bill (Debbie) Klinger of Seymore, Ind.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Wendell and Kevin Klinger, and a grandson, Nicholas Lowery.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Pastor Jeff Schoch officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private interment will be held at a later date at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
