Negley ambulance involved in wreck in Boardman

NEGLEY — A Negley Volunteer Fire Department ambulance taking two people to a hospital was involved in an accident in Boardman Township on Monday.

According to the preliminary report through the Canfield post of the highway patrol, Cody Banicki, 23, of Negley, was driving the ambulance north on state Route 7 at 4:32 p.m. and failed to stop at a red light at the Western Reserve Road intersection and struck a 2015 Infinity driven by Jennifer Baird, 48, of Canfield, who was westbound on Western Reserve.

Banicki was cited for signal lights and the two people on board the ambulance were taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
