Appeals denied in protection order violation case
LISBON — Rusty Ray Altman, who was convicted in January by a jury for a charge of violating a protection order, had several motions denied this week in Common Pleas Court.
Altman’s defense attorney, Paul Conn, had filed motions to delay Altman beginning his one-year prison sentence until after an appeal can be heard. Conn also filed motion to overturn the conviction and to ask for a new trial.
All three motions were denied and Altman was ordered by Judge Megan Bickerton to be sent to begin his prison term without further delay.
The violation of a protection order conviction was for going to Lisa Clark’s home on Cream Ridge Road in Lisbon on Oct. 18.
